Contract size is the quantity of the underlying in one lot: 100,000 units of the base currency for standard forex lots, and a set number of ounces, barrels or index units for other CFDs. Profit per price move = move × contract size × lots. Contract sizes differ by instrument, so check the specification before you trade.
If an instrument’s contract size is 100 ounces, a $1 move is worth $100 per lot, and $10 on 0.1 lots. These figures are illustrative; the actual contract size is in each instrument’s specification.
