About GBP/USD

GBP/USD, commonly known as "Cable," is one of the most liquid and volatile major currency pairs. The nickname dates back to the transatlantic telegraph cable laid in the 19th century to transmit exchange rates between London and New York. Today, it remains the third most traded forex pair globally.

The pair is heavily influenced by Bank of England (BoE) monetary policy, UK economic data (GDP, CPI, employment), and political developments including trade negotiations and fiscal policy. GBP/USD tends to be more volatile than EUR/USD, offering larger intraday moves — particularly during the London session.

At GCC Brokers, GBP/USD is available with full STP execution. Orders are routed directly to liquidity providers with no manual intervention. The pair's volatility and clear trend-following behavior make it popular among both manual and algorithmic traders.
